My Title: Do It God's Way - He's Telling a Bigger Story

My Verse: 14

"Then the woman said to Naomi, 'blessed be the Lord, who has not left you this day without a redeemer, and may His name be renowned in Israel.'"

My Response:

I believe that, when we chose to have faith in God because of our hope, He rewards us with things we wont (can't) fully appreciate the gift UNTIL His coming kingdom has been accomplished... after all that's Hebrews 11 right? All those that held on to a promise that wouldn't be fulfilled in this life.

If we don't get the proper perspective that THIS LIFE is temporary, we are going to short-change the NEXT life... the REAL life TERRIBLY.

Lord, thank you for the reminder that I am just an instrument intended to bring you glory today. Give me the faith, courage and strength to KEEP the PROPER perspective.

My Notes:

  • Boaz is patient.

  1. He WANTS her but does it honorably.

  2. He gives the closer relative the chance to redeem her.

  • This other guy is after selfish gain.

  1. Too much risk to his inheritance.

  2. Boaz has this conversation PUBLICLY and with everyone. (He cares about his integrity)

  • He redeems Ruth AND Naomi.

  • The town elders bless him.

  • GOD BLESSES HIM.

  • God uses this story of REDEMPTION in THE BIG (AND MUCH GREATER) STORY HE'S TELLING!

  • This story is used to preserve the promised line to the Savior. Jesus through DAVID! Ruth's great grandson, who's line would ring the FOREVER REDEEMER!

  • Perez > Hezron > Ram > Amminadab > Nahshon > Salmon > Boaz > Obed > Jesse > David

  • SO COOL! God took this ONE act, of hope birthed into faith, and just transformed it into a story that would last eternity!
