My Title: This Life Will ALWAYS Disappoint

My Verse: 4

4 "And Jesus said to them, A prophet is not without honor, except in his hometown and among his relatives and in his own household."

My Response:

Living on mission for God is awesome, powerful, dangerous and will cost you everything, the reward will be forever.

Listen to Jesus. WHAT is He telling you to do? That's where you'll receive your authority. You will have to CHOOSE to believe that God WILL BE your provision. Follow His instructions and DO the work that He sets before you. You WILL see His powerful work flow IN AND THROUGH YOU to accomplish HIS will. - Being a light will have the darkness in this life hating you. If you bring light on someone's selfishness they are going to fight you to keep it covered. The heart is deceitfully wicked above all things.

Living for the Lord means that God's plan for you may end up leaving you in a dungeon and killed for the selfish whim of an evil person. But you can't out-give God. You will be rewarded with a FOREVER that WILL BE WORTH IT. - If you're living for this life it will ALWAYS dissapoint.

Even if you are wildly successful in this life and achieve everything you ever set out to accomplish, this life will still not satisfy your heart and you will lose the next. If you flee from everything in this life, you heart will be satisfied by the Lord and you will GAIN the full measure of the next. Don't MISS your opportunity.

How Will This Make You a Better Husband/Father/Man:

Faith is more often caught than taught. HOW ARE YOU LIVING that will cause your kids to SEE THAT JESUS IS BETTER THAN THIS LIFE?

My Notes:

  • Jesus MARVELED at their UNBELIEF. I only thought Jesus marveled at the FAIT of the centurion and the woman that touched His cloak... He ALSO marveled at His hometowns UNBELIEF. woah.

  • Jesus sends out the 12 Apostles:

  1. Charged: Jesus gives them the authority over unclean spirits.

  2. Provision: They are told not to take any provisions. Only trust completely in the Lord. (Faith)

  3. Instruction: Jesus gives them instructions on HOW to do what He wants them to do.

  4. Power & Execution: Then they DO it. Power and miracles follow.

  • John the Baptist was beheaded by Herod so he can continue in his sin and you can see the guilt is haunting him.

  • John's teaching was impacting Herod's heart. (If even only a little) This was a threat to his wife (his brother's wife) and her daughter. (It's just wrong) They see an opportunity and they seize it. John is beheaded so that they don't have to fear him persuading Herod to kick them out of the palace.

  • This is the end for a life lived for God in this world. The world WILL hate you because you are a light. - Unfair? - His place in heaven (in the forever) will not disappoint.

What was YOUR response? Leave it in the comments.
