My Title: Enter Into His REST

My Verse: 15

"15 As it is said, 'Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.'"

My Response:

We ALWAYS rebel. It's just the nature of our heart. WE want to be God. We want to take hold of what's rightfully HIS. - "Never more clever is the mind of man than when justifying it's own sin." - If we aren't careful we will stray from the truth because WE WANT TO.

Moses was a faithful SERVANT. Jesus was a faithful SON. Moses listened to God and because of that God used Him powerfully to establish His story. It showed us that God is SERIOUS about sin and rightfully, justly, and righteously will pour out His WRATH upon it. Those that were disobedient to God were NOT allowed to enter into His REST. That is because He is a GOOD, TRUSTWORTHY and FAITHFUL God.

Jesus was a faithful SON. He was obedient unto death and was made a perfect high priest in suffering. His death allowed Him to defeat the one who hold the power of death SO THAT anyone who believes in His sacrifice can partake of God's mercy and grace. BECAUSE He is a GOOD, TRUSTWORTHY and FAITHFUL God.

The picture provided by Moses was to illustrate that God is serious about pouring out His wrath on sin and all those that don't obey WILL NOT ENTER His GREAT AND AWESOME REST. Moses brought the Law to show us that we ALL have been disobedient and DESERVE God's wrath. If we FAIL to obey and believe in Jesus, we DESERVE to be excluded from God's GREAT AND AWESOME REST in death. He is SERIOUS about this... SO IF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE TODAY, RESPOND!!!

My Notes:

  1. You are holy BECAUSE of Christ.

  2. You are adopted BROTHERS.

  3. You SHARE in a heavenly calling.

  • Jesus has been counted worthy of MORE glory than Moses.

  1. Moses was faithful in all God's house. (As a servant)

  2. Christ was faithful over God's house. (As a SON)

  3. WE are His house IF we hold fast our confidence and boasting in our hope.

  • RESPOND!!! - TODAY, if you HEAR His voice, do not harden your hearts!

  1. God's people put Him to the test and they SAW His works for 40 years in the wilderness.

  2. God was PROVOKED with that generation, and said "They always go astray in their hearts, they have not KNOWN MY WAYS!"

  3. I swore in my WRATH, "They shall not enter MY REST."

  • TODAY, if you hear His voice, DO NOT HARDEN your hearts as in the rebellion!

  1. All who left Egypt rebelled.

  2. Who could not enter His rest? - Those who were disobedient.

  3. They were unable to enter because of UNBELIEF.

What was YOUR response? Leave it in the comments.
