My Title: When the Going Gets Tough

My Verse: 11-12

"To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of His calling and may fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by his power, so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ."

My Response:

The Lord IS coming. When you act like it, you WILL suffer. Are you suffering? - Daniel, step up your game... get your head IN the game!

When you DO suffer, remember, it's NOT unfair and it's NOT uncommon. It's PAR FOR THE COURSE. Don't worry about vengeance... that's the Lord's job and He will take care of it mightily. - You just focus on doing the next right thing, that'll keep you plenty busy.

Remember that you've got to keep your eyes OFF of YOU and ON HIM to keep moving forward. He is not only allowing this, but orchestrating it to MAKE YOU WORTHY of HIS CALLING by HIS POWER. - Now look around you, who can you encourage?

My Notes:

  • Grace and Peace. It's always grace and peace with Paul. Keep, what was most important to Christ, the most important to you.

  • Check in on those around you with grace and peace, thank God for them and encourage them.

  • Is faith growing? Is love increasing? - BOAST about what God is doing.

  • Steadfastness of FAITH should not go unnoticed.

  • Enduring persecutions and afflictions can be bearable when you remember that they are serving a purpose and earning a heavenly reward!

  • Vengeance is not yours to be concerned about. - Jesus is coming back to be glorified in His saints and marveled at among all those who believed.

  • Jesus will be revealed with His mighty angels in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. - They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction away from the presence of the Lord.

  • I think the greatest punishment in hell will be complete isolation away from the Lord.
