My Title: We Are Waiting on a Promise

My Verse: 9

"9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill His promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that ALL should come to repentance."

My Response:

Daniel, see every non-believer around you as an orphan that has NO IDEA how desperate they are for a GOOD and LOVING heavenly Father. - He IS LOVING but His WRATH is also JUST. He sent His Son to take that wrath so that we wouldn't have to.

This is the second letter that Peter writes and both of them were purposed to stir up a sincere mind by way of reminder, that you should remember the predictions of the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior through the Apostles, knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their sinful desires but that should only mean to encourage you that the end is closer than ever.

Being on mission is not easy but you are waiting on the promise of a FAITHFUL SAVIOR. He IS coming and He IS bringing His glory with Him for the forever kingdom. There is room for all and His heart is that ALL should come to repentance from what would keep them out. - Look for those hearts where the Holy Spirit is already at work and then join Him in helping to make the introduction.

My Notes:

  • Remember scoffers will come because they will be following their sinful desires.

  • Fire is stored up for judgement and destruction of the ungodly! (That is for ALL of us unless we believe in Jesus!)

  • God stands OUTSIDE of time! - He is patient towards YOU!

  • What sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness. Waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God.

  • Jesus HAS promised us a NEW HEAVENS and a NEW EARTH in which RIGHTEOUSNESS dwells!

  • Since you are waiting - BE DILIGENT!

  • Be found without spot or blemish and BE AT PEACE!

  • GROW in GRACE & KNOWLEDGE of our LORD and SAVIOR Jesus Christ. - Let it ALL be for God's glory!
