From Daniel's Desk on 12/26/19

My Title: You Shall Be Holy as I Am Holy

My Verse: 3

"3 His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and Godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us to His own glory and excellence."

My Response:

Avoid corruption in this life and enjoy a rich entrance into Jesus' kingdom in the next life! Grow in your knowledge of Him WHO HAS CALLED you into His OWN GLORY!

The temptations in this life are only meant to distract you and call you away from His holy purpose for you. Sin will never deliver what it promised in the temptation and it will always cost you more than you are willing to pay... double negative here, not only will you have regret but it will cost you in this life AND the investment you COULD have made for the next life.

We struggle to remember that we will live in the next life. Our eternal bank account relies on our faith from this life. Live as though you've been called to that GLORY and EXCELLENCE by the living Creator and Savior. Daniel, move faster. Run harder. Be a better Dad and husband.

My Notes:

  • Proper perspective. Doulos = Servant/Slave

  • Jesus CALLED you to GLORY & excellence.

  • Through Jesus' promises you become partakers of the divine nature (holiness) escaping corruption in this world because of sinful desires.

  • Avoid being ineffective or unfruitful!

  1. Make every effort to supplement: Faith > Virtue > Knowledge > Self-control > Steadfastness > Godliness > Brotherly Affection > Love.

  2. Make your calling and election SURE. - If you practice these qualities you will never fall!

  • In this way there will be richly provided an entrance into Jesus' eternal kingdom!

  • Jesus IS the SON of God!

  • Scripture is God's Word! "Spoke from God-men carried along by the Holy Spirit!"
