2 Corinthians | Ch. 1
From Daniel's Desk on 3/4/20 & 3/5/20

My Title: Privilege
My Verse: 20-22
"20 For all the promises of God find their Yes in Him. That is why it is through Him that we utter our Amen to God for His glory. 21 And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us, 22 and who has also put His seal on us and given us His Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee."
My Response:
Lord, define me. One of the most difficult things for me is that I have securely placed my identity in you but I do not yet have a clearly defined role. (As of 3/04/2020) There is no road map for what I am doing or what you've called me to. It is clear that you have called me to it though because you've provided every step of the way. Turn left when you say to do so and turn right when you say to do so. I have no authority to help encourage churches and yet you use me to do so. I have no company to help brand, market and build the ministries you ask me to help and yet I get to do that for you. Lord, my prayer today, Father, would be that you place your definition on my heart as surely as you placed "Apostle" on Paul.
It's my WALK WITH YOU that has taught me your faithfulness. Remember that all the promises of God find their yes in Him. That is why it is THROUGH Him that we utter our amen to God FOR HIS GLORY. Live for HIS plan. His purpose. His KINGDOM.
How Will This Make You a Better Husband/Father/Man:
Courage steams from identity. Read. That. Again. Teach your son, your daughters... LIVE like this Daniel. You are sealed by the Holy Spirit. You are anointed. Follow Him, that's is your identity. What an incredible privilege. (3/05/2020)
My Notes:
Paul, and APOSTLE, by the WILL of God. - Paul found his identity IN how GOD defined him.
He wasn't afraid or ashamed to claim his identity either.
He preempts his letter with grace and peace. <-- Do you?
God is the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Father of mercies. The God of all comfort. (in ALL of our afflictions)
God comforts us in OUR afflictions SO THAT we can go and comfort others.
We share in Christ's sufferings. (Take a moment to just think about that)
Suffering and Comfort go hand in hand.
As a Christian you should know that you will probably face suffering that burdens you beyond your strength that you despair of even life itself! <-- read that again.
WHEN THAT HAPPENS... realize that is purposed to MAKE YOU RELY not on yourself but on God who raises the dead!!! (vs. 9)
On HIM we have set our hope that He will deliver us again.
Your prayers matter! "You must also help us by prayer, so that many will give thanks on our behalf for the blessing granted us through the prayer of many." (vs. 11)
Dude. God defines your role for Him with every step you take. What an incredible privilege!!!
