My Title: God Opposes the PROUD but Gives Grace to the HUMBLE!

My Verse: 6

"Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time He may exalt you."

My Response:

Humble yourself. Don't think yourself better than the will of God. Even Jesus suffered unto death. We ask God, "Why!?" As in, why would He allow this being a GOOD God, when what we SHOULD be asking is "Why!?" As in, what purpose are you allowing this to bring yourself glory!?

Remember that you ARE NOT ALONE. It's in the dark that we cling to Jesus the tightest! He has promised to never leave us or forsake us. Your suffering is FOR a PURPOSE and the rewards for the faithful are great. Keep your eyes fixed on your hope which is Christ.

Stay sober! Don't use any other crutch for your anxiety! It will only serve to confuse the situation and make God's purpose that much harder to see. You ALSO have an enemy that would love to destroy you and will use any means available. Don't give him a foot hold. Let God be your strength and comforter. He CARES about you greatly and wants to give you His abundant grace. It's all for His story and His glory, never forget that!

My Notes:

  • Peter witnessed the sufferings of Christ.

  1. After acknowledging that we will suffer, he calls us to a higher calling.

  • Be eager to shepherd (As God would have you)

  1. There is reward for your work.

  2. Unfading crown of glory.

  • Be HUMBLE.

  1. God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble!

  2. Humble yourself under the mighty hand of God!

  • God CARES for YOU!

  1. Cast your anxiety on Him.

  2. Be sober minded.

  3. You have an enemy that wants to devour you!

  • You have an enemy that wants to devour you!

  1. Resist him by being firm in your faith. - Jesus fought Satan with scripture and new scripture well enough to defend it when it was thrown at Him.

  • You aren't suffering alone.

  1. To eternal glory.

  2. Christ Himself will restore you, confirm, strengthen, and encourage you.

  3. For HIS Glory.
