My Title: What are YOU Working, Toiling, Striving For?
My Verse: 13-15
"13 each one's work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. 14 If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. 15 If anyone's work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire."
My Response:
Did God ask you to DO what you are working so hard for? Really? REALLY REALLY? Are you SURE? Your eternal reward DEPENDS on your answer! Burn the things that need to be burned NOW so that you do not suffer loss when it truly matters.
God. Guide my feet to stay WELL within your will and your plan. Give me wisdom so that I do not deceive myself into thinking that what I want is what you want. Open your Word and pour out it's truths on my heart so that it stray less and less each day. Father, speak CLEARLY that I would KNOW YOUR WILL. Give me spiritual eyes and ears to see those that need to be loved by you and then give me the courage and the strength to love them for you SO THAT I can introduce them to you and then get out of the way. I do want all of my work in service to you to survive the fire. Take the things that are not of you so that I do not waste any time. This life isn't long enough to live distracted.
God. Father. Let your joy be my strength. Let me hear your voice along the path. Let me SEE the power that raised Christ from the grave. Help me to tell YOUR story and Lord unite your workers in the harvest that we might pray for each other to boldly preach the gospel as we ought.
SO, NOW APPLY IT: Spend time in prayer today reviewing your role as a husband, as a father and then look to the work where you've invested your hands. What/where are YOU mostly at work and what/where is God mostly at work and inviting you to join Him THAT COSTS YOU FAITH to accomplish!
My Notes:
GROW UP. Seriously. Grow. Up. - Jesus is the main thing. He is responsible for the reconciliation. All we can do is make the introduction between sinner and Savior.
Men can be gifted powerful tools for the Lord but if they aren't COMPLETELY removing themselves to get themselves OUT and more of Jesus IN, then they aren't worth listening to.
This isn't a debate. Men DO NOT DESERVE THE GLORY. - The problem is, OUR HEARTS ARE NOTORIOUS for desiring to place the worship that belongs to our invisible God to tangible, physical things that we can see.
This causes pride, prejudice, conceit, and more which leads to fear, doubt and strife. Make sure that the work you do for the Lord is pure. Innocent. This is ONLY possible by keeping a CORRECT perspective. Keep your eyes OPEN and ON GOD.
Work done in selfishness is going to be revealed by fire. <-- READ THAT AGAIN. - The only work that will remain after the Day, will be the work done in servitude to Christ. The rest is but filthy rags. Join God in the story He is telling and waste time on NOTHING else.
Become like a SKILLED MASTER! - Do what God's called you to do and then trust that the Holy Spirit will continue the work THAT HE STARTED and promised to complete in the Day of Christ Jesus.
Let now one deceive himself. - If you THINK you are wise... become foolish SO THAT you can gain true wisdom!
All things are Christ's. ALL THINGS ARE CHRIST'S. Do you believe it? Then act like it.
